About the Fort Worth Chapter
The Military Order of the World Wars was chartered in 1919 by Act of Congress. Our first Commander In Chief was General John J. "Black Jack" Pershing. Our mission is spelled out in our Preamble which is read at every meeting. The development of youth leadership is one of the primary goals of the Order. Toward that end we sponsor Youth Leadership Conferences each summer for high school Sophomores and Juniors at multiple locations throughout Texas and the nation. The Order is open to all federally commissioned officers of all the services including the US Public Health Service and the National Oceanographic Administration. The Order currently has some 80 chapters nationwide. The Fort Worth Chapter of MOWW meets monthly, usually on the second Thursday of each month. We are currently searching for a new permanent location for our monthly lunch/dinner meetings. Because of the COVID 19 restrictions, our lunch meetings have been limited. We are also holding our monthly meetings via ZOOM. Our monthly newsletter, "The Pershing Gazette" provides specific details for our montly meetings.
